Yozo Kokubo has extensive management experience in Japan and the United States. He has most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Systex Products Corporation, a manufacturer of plastic injection molded parts and sub-assemblies for automotive HVAC systems. He was instrumental in the leadership and management of Systex beginning with its start-up in Michigan through adding a subsidiary in Arkansas to serve the auto industry in the south. Before establishing Systex, Yozo held various positions from Sales Associate to Manager, Overseas Business Division, with Japanese Inoac Corporation.
Yozo's comprehensive background has prepared him well for placing candidates with Japanese companies in the U.S. Not only does he understand both common and unique business practices in Japan and the U.S., he has hands-on experience with those business practices and with the intricacies of hiring the right person for the job.
During his career, Yozo evaluated numerous resumes and interviewed many candidates, mostly for managerial and professional positions. This experience has given him solid insight into the importance of a good fit between candidate and the job. He is sensitive to the negative impact of poor decisions on both candidate and hiring company and strives to avoid this negative impact by focusing on creating a win-win situation for both candidate and company.
Asked what advice he'd give to prospective job candidates, Yozo offers several thoughts that are in line with his can do philosophy. "Decide what you want and then make opportunity happen for you. Knock on doors and ask for help. Be patient, don’t give up and you will find the ideal position for you."
Yozo holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Keio University in Tokyo and has been certified by the Ministry of Labor in Tokyo as a Technical Translator.
