Satoshi "Jake" Suzuki
MBA. Business experience. Likes people. Can walk in your shoes. Japan native. Long-time US resident. Calculated risk-taker. Sales orientation. Wants to make the world a better place. Enough said? These are the qualities Satoshi "Jake" Suzuki brings to the WIN team.

Born in Japan, Jake spent several years as a marketing director, buyer and store manager. During that time, he experienced many issues related to human resources and, more specifically, hiring. He observed that in order to prosper, it is imperative that companies hire the right people and then provide appropriate training. Bad hires always have a negative effect on the bottom line.

A long-time US resident, Jake is truly cross-cultural. He not only understands the problems caused by cultural differences; he knows how to resolve them. Helping people smooth out difficult situations and overcome obstacles are activities he finds greatly rewarding. He says, "I can offer real-life, extensive advice and tutoring for those who want to be hired by a Japanese owned and managed company."

As a graduate student preparing to finish his MBA program, Jake received numerous phone calls and e-mails from recruiters. It was exciting to get so many calls and be in such demand. Excitement turned to dissatisfaction, though, as recruiters acted as if Jake were a product—something they could make money from—not as a human being, looking for a rewarding career.

Asked what advice he had for candidates looking for a new job, Jake offers, "You can do it, as long as you really want to. Always keep your goal in mind. Every decision (even one to stay at your current job) involves risk, but risk can be minimized if you prepare and learn as much as possible before making a decision. I can help you minimize your risk. I totally understand the feeling that candidates might have when it’s time to make a decision."

During his study to earn his MBA, Jake learned how to hire and foster candidates to be effective on the job. Combined with his experience, this knowledge puts him in an excellent position to help you be the right candidate for the right company. Let him help make your corner of the world a better place.
