Satoshi Egawa, Vice President

Talk about one experience affecting your entire life. Satoshi Egawa worked with a recruiter who promised  he would make at least 70K per year for the Sales Engineering position for which he had already had three interviews. The company offered 50K. The recruiter's advice? “You are not worth 70K for them. You have 3 pretty children and lovely wife. Take the position and stay for 6 months. We are going to look for other work for you.” Satoshi never forgot this frustrating and time-wasting experience. When he became a search consultant, he vowed always to be candid and always to respect the candidate's viewpoint. It is a promise he has kept.

Today, Satoshi enjoys coaching candidates for their interviews and helping both candidates and clients grow. He particularly enjoys observing and learning about the business culture of American/Japanese bicultural organizations, and how that culture evolves over time.

Satoshi describes himself as a serious person and his impressive credentials showcase his natural tendency to work hard and accomplish much.  Those credentials include 17 years of management experience in product development, production control, global procurement and sales support with one of the leading Japanese suppliers of the automotive industry. In the company's American operations in Tennessee, Satoshi was instrumental in directing the implementation of the new car production facility, lean production system, and procurement activities.

With all this experience, Satoshi learned first-hand how to resolve issues arising from the differences in the Japanese and U.S. cultures. He has used that knowledge as a Chief Consultant of JMAC, the leading Japanese quality and management consulting firm.  At JMAC, Satoshi worked with over 20 American and Japanese companies, identifying problems, analyzing performance and offering solutions in the areas of plant management, labor and equipment productivity.
